Advisory Board Information

The Advisory Board is the region's advisory body to the Heartland Regional Coordinating Center and the collaborative as a whole. It combines the functions of the previous advisory bodies, the Heartland Regional Council on Genetics and the Heartland Executive Committee. Membership is to include: the 8 State Genetic Coordinators; 3 Advocates; 5 Newborn Screening representatives; 2 Clinical Genetics representatives; 2 Primary Care Providers, and the Project Director and Project Manager as ex officio members.

The Advisory Board meets monthly, and makes decisions that require rapid response, approves documents and pilot project awards, advises on key issues and plans, and will provide key leadership in implementation of the Heartland Regional Genetics Plan. The Advisory Board works by email outside of regularly scheduled monthly phone conferences.
