Enhancing the capacity and quality of newborn screening programs is integral to our mission (Heartland’s Mission). Members of the Heartland Newborn Screening (NBS) Work Group prioritize, promote, oversee, and conduct activities that facilitate best practices in newborn screening through resource and information sharing; continuing education; participation in national projects; contributing to new knowledge discovery; and expanding NBS long-term follow up.
