Announcement: Small Project Awards!

We are pleased to announce another “rapid round” of small project awards.   We will fund 3 awards for up to $5,000 (direct costs) per award.  The work must be completed by May 31, 2016.  Please see instructions below.

  1. Provide a brief description of the project and a budget request.  Please submit the proposal as an email attachment, no more than 2 pages, total.  In the document, the project leader should be identified and contact information provided.  A template outline is provided below.  The project should relate to our mission (see below).  Please browse our website for more information about our organization.
  2. Budget request should include any indirect costs for the organization, if applicable, and a contact person for the award agreement.
  3. You may contact Ana Herrera Morales (anayeli@uams.edu) for information about small projects funded in the past.
  4. Deadline for submission: 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016
  5. Email the application to Lori Williamson Dean at lwdean@uams.edu .
  6. Award decisions will be made by March 1, 2016.
  7. Project leaders of funded applications will be asked to present the project in either written or oral form during a Heartland Advisory Board meeting (date TBD).

Mission: The Heartland Genetics Services Collaborative is focused on ensuring the best possible outcome for individuals with heritable disorders and optimizing the health of the population throughout the life cycle by improving understanding and awareness of genetics, expanding access to health care, and translating new findings to improve the quality of care within an eight-state region.
