Genetics Provider Survey – Spend 15 minutes to Help Shape the Future of Genetics

The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG), as the National Coordinating Center (NCC) for the seven federally-funded Regional Genetic Service Collaboratives (RCs), is collecting information to inform the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA’s) development of innovative models of support centers for regional genetic and genomic services and resources that would be useful for the next 5 to 10 years. Please note that the terms genetics and genetic services used throughout this survey are intended to include genomic health care services.
As a genetic professional, you are a national resource for an underserved group of patients. Your participation in this survey will provide invaluable information as we envision future regional genetics resources to help you serve your patients and their families. The survey will take you fewer than 10 minutes to complete. There is an opportunity to provide your opinion in two text boxes. Please complete the survey no later than September 30, 2015.

This survey includes three parts:
Part I. Current Conditions in Your Genetics Practice– These 11 questions ask about current conditions and gaps in your genetics practice.
Part II. Assessment of Unmet Needs– This section asks 3 questions on whether there are genetic service gaps in your geographic/catchment area.
Part III. Components of Future Regional Genetic Resource Centers –This section, comprised of 2 tables, asks for feedback on what resources would help to ensure that your patients and their families receive the genetic services they need in the next 5 to 10 years. One sub-section asks about provider resources; the second sub-section about consumer resources.
Regional Collaborative (RC) Questions. Some RCs have included a few questions about their region. You may be directed to those questions.
Survey responses will be aggregated and not individually identified. Your responses will be kept anonymous.
