About 10% of cancer can have an identifiable genetic component, which if found can help provide information on other possible cancers one is at higher risk for. Additionally, it may help unaffected relatives to begin screening earlier. This 3 minute video helps showcase through multiple generations in a family how finding a genetic predisposition for cancer helps unaffected relatives to stay cancer free.
