Regarding Your Child with Special Health Care Needs

October 23, 2015

Dear colleagues and partners,index

The Heartland Genetics Services Collaborative aims to improve policy makers’ understanding about the health insurance needs of people with special health care needs. However, we need families in the Heartland Region to share their voice via a brief survey. The survey will ask questions about health insurance coverage for children with special health care needs and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Eligible respondents are parents or guardians of children who are under the age of 21 AND have a special health care need.

The information collected via this effort will be integrated into a report with accompanying educational material that can be used to educate legislators, insurance providers, and the general public concerning some of the challenges related to adequate health insurance faced by those living with genetic conditions. Please support our process by encouraging your partners and networks in the Heartland states (AR, IA, KS, MO, ND, NE, OK, SD) to disseminate the corresponding survey links in English / Spanish.

If you have any questions, please contact me at the e-mail and/or phone number listed below. We greatly appreciate your help!

Have a wonderful day,
AHM
